Event Volunteers

PTA Volunteer Requests

This year, Woodstock PTA is asking parents to participate in the Three for Me Promise program. We are asking every family to volunteer for at least 3 hours at PTA events this year. Sign a pledge form and turn it in to the front office. Download a pledge form or find a copy in your child's back-to-school packet.

May

May 20th: Burgerville Dine out night: 5-8pm.
Volunteer with your kids to serve food to your friends and family! Dine out at the 26th and Powell Location from 5-8pm and 10% of the ALL proceeds will go to the PTA General fund, benefitting Woodstock Elementary's staff and students. Future dine-out nights every 3rd Wednesday.

More PTA Volunteer Opportunities listed soon. Please check back often. Make a difference.

Reading Volunteers

Check in with your child's teacher. Teachers can often use help copying papers or helping out in the classroom. Just coming in to let a child read to you for 15 minutes a week can be a rewarding experience for both you and that child. Volunteering in the school requires a background check form and a volunteer orientation. Background Check forms can be downloaded here and turned in at the front office. A copy will be in your back-to-school packet or the front office. Background checks are good for 3 years.

Volunteering

Volunteer Orientations:

Want to volunteer? If you volunteer at our school it is now mandatory that you attend one of the group orientations. The open meetings are on a drop-in basis and should only last about fifteen minutes.

  • Next Orientation: to be announced

Volunteering

PTA believes that every hour you volunteer shows your children you value their education and their community.

Be a role model. Volunteer.

I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.
-- Mahatma Gandhi

Imagine what a harmonious world it could be if every single person, both young and old shared a little of what he is good at doing.
-- Quincy Jones

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.
-- Margaret Mead
